1. road过去主要指城市以外连接城乡或乡间的供人、车、马通行的道路,现代英语中也可泛指城镇中的街道,可以是现代化的大街,也可指肮脏狭窄的街道。例如：
A fall of rocks blocked the road.
掉落的岩石把路封住了。
The road was blocked by a huge rock.
道路被一块大石头堵住了。
The road to the village branches off on the right.
通往该村的道路向右转为一条小路。
The new road will soon be opened to traffic.

2. street的基本意思是“大街,街道,马路”,是城市内街道的总称,也可具体指市内的某一条街,其特点在于路面平整,两边有人行道,人行道之外有建筑物,可缩写为St。street有时还可指“在某一街道居住或工作的人们”。street与专有名词连用时须置于其后,该专有名词前不加冠词。

3. path的基本意思是“小路”“小径”,常指人或牲畜走出来的路,相当于pathway或footpath,引申可指思想、行为和生活等“路线,路径,办事程序,办法”等,均用作可数名词。
path与through连用时,表示“通往…的小路”; 与of连用时表示“…的道路”。
They went out for a walk on the gravelled path.

The boy hops the ditch and run down the path.

4. way的基本意思是“路,道,街,径”,一般用来指具体的“路,道路”,也可指通向某地的“方向”“路线”或做某事所采用的手段,即“方式,方法”。

我们在黑夜中迷路了。
He asked me the way to London.
